What To Expect On Your First Visit

We try to make your first visit at Preferred Chiropractic as comfortable as possible. We'll begin with the paperwork….about 4 pages worth. We realize that you may be in pain, so we have soft leather chairs for your comfort.

Next, if necessary, we will take a set of x-rays which will provide us with vital information concerning the source of your pain. X-ray results will be thoroughly explained to you. You will never be rushed and we encourage you ask any questions that you like. The more educated you are about the nature of your condition or injury, the less likely you will re-injure this area in the future.

We do realize that x-rays are a personal choice and we respect your right to waive them. If you choose to do so, simply fill out an x-ray waiver and then we're on to the next step in your care.

If the area of pain involves swelling or muscle tightness or spasm any one of 4 therapies may be used. These are Electric Muscle Stimulation, Healing Ultrasound, Laser or Percussion Massage. Depending on the nature of your injury, usually 1-2 therapies are used. One to reduce pain, another to reduce swelling or spasm, etc.

Next, if the area in pain allows, we will perform gentle corrections to that area. We can do this by hand or through instrumentation, depending on the circumstance.

We realize that there is always a little stress involved when beginning something new, so we considered this factor when designing our office....relaxing colors, easy listening music and a relaxed atmosphere are all part of the experience.
